The City of Portage will be performing its annual Crack Fill project beginning Thursday, September 7th. Work will include routing and cleaning the existing roadway cracks followed by an application of asphaltic sealer to extend the life of the roadway surface. The City’s contractor will be placing no parking signs along the programmed roadways in advance to allow the surface treatment to be installed curb-line to curb-line. Roadways programmed for this treatment include portions of Parkview Court, Ridgeview Court, Sanborn Street, E. Franklin Street, E. Edgewater Street, E. Conant Street, and Thompson Street. The contractor performing the work will provide appropriate traffic control while work is being performed. Following the surface treatment, you may notice a paper product installed on top of the asphaltic sealer, please note this is installed to ensure the proper cure of the sealer. This paper product is biodegradable and will deteriorate in due time. The City apologizes for any inconveniences in advance.
