The City of Portage will be performing its annual Chip Seal project beginning next week. Work will include spraying the programmed roadways with emulsifier and then embedding finely graded aggregate over the surface to extend the life of the roadway surface. The City’s contractor will be placing no parking signs along the programmed roadways in advance to allow the surface treatment to be installed curb-line to curb-line. Roadways programmed for this treatment include portions of School Road, Dorn Drive, Clemens Court, Grove Street, Armstrong Street and Cass Street. The contractor will provide the appropriate traffic control notifying any changes in traffic patterns while work is being performed. Following the surface treatment, the contractor will sweep the excess aggregate once it has been fully embedded into the emulsifier. The City apologizes for any inconveniences in advance.
