Both awards were presented at yesterday’s 2017 Columbia County Tourism Awards dinner sponsored by the Columbia County Tourism Committee and Visitors Bureau!
The Portage Parks and Recreation Department is seeking input for a band shelter project proposal from the Portage Service Club Association. The Parks and Recreation Board has designed the below survey asking for feedback on the various aspects of the proposal. Brush pick up is the week of April 3rd, 2017. Residents are to put brush out on the curb, parallel to the curb and prepared properly. Brush is to be placed out by 7:00 a.m. on Monday of the first full week of every month April through November. There will be no alley pick-ups and the truck will only go by once. Residents are encouraged to use the Airport Road site for leaves and yard/garden waste only.

Starting in March, 2017, you will find a $20 municipal vehicle registration fee or Wheel Tax added to the annual Department of Transportation (WisDOT) vehicle registration fee for April, 2017 renewals. In November, 2016, the Portage Common Council voted to implement the $20 Wheel Tax which is collected by WisDOT annually when you renew your license plate registration sticker on vehicles kept in the City of Portage. FURTHER, BE ADVISED that the Assessor for the City of Portage will be present March 27, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:30p.m. and 4:30p.m. to 7:00p.m. and March 28, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the City of Portage Municipal Building, 115 West Pleasant Street, Portage, WI.
