Columbia County is the City of Portage’s contractor for garbage and recycling collection. Any questions regarding refuse pick up should be directed to Columbia county. (Columbia County Recycling and Waste 608-742-6651)
If your recycling cart is over flowing every two weeks the City of Portage has extra 65 gallon recycling carts for sale please contact City Hall 608-742-2176.
Recycling Tip: Did you know that the paper container, also called paperboard, that you buy 12 packs of soda pop and other beverages in, is not recyclable in Columbia County, including the City of Portage? But they are compostable, please place all beverage paperboard in with your trash - Thank you.
