Levee Path Construction – Tuesday, October 3, 2023

PUBLIC NOTICE- LEVEE PATH CRACK-FILLING AND SEAL COATING PROJECT
Over the next couple of weeks, the Levee Path along the Wisconsin River will be undergoing crack-filling and seal coating to improve the quality of the path, and to extend its lifespan.
The path will remain open until construction begins, so if you see caution tape or indications that the path is closed, please stay off. This project is dependent on the weather but is scheduled to be finished by the end of October.

Repair is complete and water is back on. – Wednesday, 10/4/2023 – 11:39am

EMERGENCY WATER MAIN REPAIR – TUESDAY 10/3/2023 – 5:00pm

The City of Portage and it’s contractor will be repairing a water main break at the intersection of Cass Street and W. Conant Street beginning tomorrow morning at 9:00AM. In order to isolate the water main for this repair, the water will need to be turned off on the below streets. Customers whose water services fall along these roadways will not have water during this shutdown which is expected to last until approximately 4:00PM or until the work has been completed. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Armstrong Street between W. Pleasant Street & W. Conant Street.
Cass Street between W. Conant Street & Cook Street.
Dunn Street between Prospect Street & Cook Street.
W. Conant Street between Pierce Street & MacFarlane Road.
W. Pleasant Street between Park Street & Armstrong Street.
W. Pleasant Street between Dunn Street & MacFarlane Road.
Pierce Street between Prospect Street & W. Edgewater Street.

In association with the West Conant Street reconstruction project, the City of Portage will be shutting the water off along the following roadways starting at 8:00AM on Monday, October 2nd, 2023. Affected roadways are listed below. Customers whose water services fall along these roadways will not have water during this shutdown which is expected to last until approximately 3:00PM or until the work has been completed. Affected residents have been notified of this shutdown via door hangers. We apologize for any inconveniences during this timeframe.

 

Armstrong Street between W. Pleasant Street & W. Conant Street.

Cass Street between W. Conant Street & Cook Street.

  1. Conant Street between Pierce Street & Cass Street.
  2. Pleasant Street between Summit Street/Conant Street & Armstrong Street.

Pierce Street between Prospect Street & W. Edgewater Street.

Sunset Street between Prospect Street & W. Pleasant Street.

Beginning Monday October 2, 2023, the intersection of Gunderson Drive and Hunters Trail will be temporarily closed to facilitate utility construction. Access to the adjacent driveways will remain in place during construction. Traffic to and from Gunderson Drive and Hunters Trail will need to be re-routed to Eastridge Drive and Red Fox Run during construction. We apologize for any inconvenience during this closure.

09.27.23 UPDATE: Due to unforeseen conditions, the water will also be shut off today on W. Conant Street between Pierce Street & Cass Street, Cass Street between W. Conant Street & Cook Street, and Armstrong Street between W. Pleasant Street & W. Conant Street. Customers whose water services fall along these roadways will not have water during this shutdown which is expected to last until approximately 1:00PM or earlier. Additional shut downs will be necessary next week in association with this project which will be coordinated in advance. We apologize for any inconvenience.
In association with the West Conant Street reconstruction project, the City of Portage will be shutting the water off along the following roadways starting at 8:00AM on Wednesday, September 27th, 2023. Affected roadways will include W. Pleasant Street between Park Street and Armstrong Street, as well as Pierce Street between Prospect Street and W. Edgewater Street. Customers whose water services fall along these roadways will not have water during this shutdown which is expected to last until approximately 1:00PM or earlier. Affected residents should have also been notified late last week of this shutdown via door hangers. We apologize for any inconveniences during this timeframe.
