North Tower Drain Down Maintenance
9/11/2024
The Portage Water Utility will be conducting maintenance on the North Tower located on West Slifer Street the morning of Monday, September 16, 2024 . We will be flushing hydrants in the W. Slifer Street, Airport Road, Klemp Street, Schultz Street, Collipp Street and Silver Lake Road areas to drain down the water tower for this maintenance. During this timeframe residents may experience temporary discolored water and may experience slight loss of water pressure in the affected areas. If discolored water is experienced, please flush cold water through your bath tub faucet if available. The work associated with this maintenance is expected to be completed late Tuesday morning the 17th at which point we will begin refilling the tower.

Please note that E. Slifer Street is still closed to through traffic until all construction work has been completed. Construction crews will continue working on roadway striping and restoration into next week. Please continue to use the attached detours. Please refrain from moving any barricades as these are in place for both worker and driver safety as well as to prevent damage to your vehicle. Individuals found moving barricades and/or using the roadway as a through street may be subject to citation.
