ADRC Transportation Program
Another transportation option available to residents is the Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Columbia County Transportation Program, which provides transportation for eligible residents who need assistance getting to non-emergency medical appointments, nutrition and meal sites, employment, and other trips that support socialization, health, and overall wellness. Medical appointments are always given priority, and trips are scheduled as availability allows. Drivers offer minimal assistance, and a caregiver may accompany a rider at no additional cost. The program serves older adults (60 years old +), individuals with disabilities, veterans, ambulatory and non-ambulatory riders, and individuals receiving dialysis or cancer treatment. To book a ride or find further information please visit Columbia County’s ADRC webpage.
SafeRide Program
An additional service outside of the Portage Cab is the Safe Ride Taxi service provided by the Tavern League of Wisconsin, which provides free rides to patrons of member bar, restaurant, and other establishment. You can find Tavern League member and SafeRide provider here. Or download the TLW SafeRide mobile app. The app shows you which members are nearby, in order of location.
