Wisconsin River Flood Update – April 14, 2026: 4:00PM

This afternoon, the Columbia County Emergency Management Office shared that the National Weather Service is forecasting the Wisconsin River could reach a major flood stage of approximately 20.4 feet by the morning of Thursday, April 16. As of this update, the river level is 17.4 feet and rising. This remains a forecasted estimate and may change based on conditions over the coming days.
The City, in coordination with Columbia County and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, has established flood response procedures and has begun preparatory measures in the event water levels continue to rise.
Sand and sandbags are available to the public at the Columbia County Highway Shop (338 W Old Highway 16, Wyocena). Residents should bring a shovel and an appropriate vehicle or trailer for transport.
